The Dress

The dress was hand made for me by Michelle Ann May in Devon.

The dress cost £1600 when bought. I have had the dress professionally dry cleaned for £150. The dress was worn once for my wedding day so is in very good condition.

The drawings for the original design of the dress are listed in the photos.

The skirt is made from:
Top 2 layers - 100% silk chiffon
Layer 3 - Silk
Layer 4 - Fine gathered tulle.

The bodice has a cropped corset section with a lace up back and a length of covered buttons to finish.

The bodice is covered with fine pin tucked cotton lace and tiny daisy detail.

The sleeves are finished with covered buttons and a slight gather to the outer hem. The sleeves measure 11 inches around the upper arms.

The waist will fit an 8-10 due to the lace up bodice and this measures - 25 - 28 inches

The skirt measures:
from waist to back hem - 39 inches
from waist to front hem - 33 inches

The bust measures - 30-32 inches (This could be easily adjusted larger by a dressmaker).

There is no hip measurement as the corset finishes at the waist.

There is a silk ribbon which is pre-tied and attaches to the buttons when done up.

The hem of this dress is cropped at the front and dips back slightly lower at the back.

The hem is stitched by hand and roll hemmed.

This dress is light to wear, very comfortable and could be adjusted to fit you perfectly. It is a simple, classically vintage design and looks gorgeous with vintage heels. The dress will be packed in a white wedding dress box wrapped in acid free paper. I will also send a dress bag for transportation.
