The Dress

Rue de Seine is a New Zealand bridal designer brand who creates the most beautiful, free-spirited, bohemian inspired wedding dresses.

I first saw the absolutely beautiful “Elea Gown” from the Nomadic Collection online on Vogue Magazine and fell in love with the effortlessly stylish, hopelessly romantic, and entirely flattering dress, which is simply stunning.

From the website: Inspired by wild flower fields, this gown has a full blossoming hem, a cascading sleeve and revealing back. This silhouette is form fitting through the bodice and over hip with transparent skirt detailing.

I bought the dress in January 2016 and it took 6 months to hand sew in New Zealand. The dress has an open V Neckline and draped sleeve detail. The back is completely open back and it’s fitted through waist and over hip. The skirt is floor length with large godets; the lining underneath is short to achieve the transparent skirt effect.

The dress was slightly altered to fit my top half, which is slightly smaller than a 10. The inside slip had stiff cups added to make the neckline more comfortable to wear without a bra. All the alterations are reversible and were done professionally. The outside shell was not altered. The skirt flows beautifully from the waist and the dress is very comfortable to wear and fits perfectly my height (168cm / 5”5’). It comes with a little wrist loop.

I wore the dress on our wedding day (27.08.16) and had it immediately professionally dry cleaned. It is in excellent condition and it looks like new; It only shows slight signs of wear that are only noticeable when examined closely.

This is a stunning dress and I'm very sad to be letting it go but I hope it will make another bride very happy!
