The Dress

I wore this beautiful Catherine Deane dress on our wedding day on August 2015.

The most striking feature of this elegant dress is the delicate, vintage beading on the back - which came out beautifully in our wedding photographs. The beading itself took 2 - 3 days to be constructed. The French silk tulle overlay gives the dress an ethereal, vintage feel. The dress was extremely comfortable to wear, being light and floaty when worn. Catherine Deane is known for employing traditional techniques with a modernist twist of simplicity. Her ready to wear designs are loved by the likes of Beyonce, Lana del Ray and Pippa Middleton.

I received countless compliments for this dress on our wedding day. I would highly recommend this dress for a bride who seeks something unconventional, but timeless.

The dress was, of course, only worn once in August 2015 and has been stored safely since that day in a pet-free, smoke-free home. Therefore, the dress is overall in an immaculate condition. There may be some slight blemishes around the hem of the dress, which occurred during the walk to and from the Church, these are barely noticeable however you may wish to have the dress specially dry-cleaned at Catherine Deane's atelier in London (easy to arrange by calling Catherine Deane's studios directly and costing around £80). It is worth pointing out that there are a number of small perforations in the tulle along the hem at the back of the dress. This was caused by the dress catching in my wife's high heels as the dress was slightly too long for her. These are only visible on close inspection and cannot be seen when the dress hangs on the body as they are so small and become lost in the folds of the fabric.
