The Dress

Having not known what I was looking for as a wedding dress, I have to say that this was one of the dresses I tried on at my my very first trial and I instantly fell in love with it. I had it in my mind though that I would at least go to a few trials so as to see what other designers could offer. So I went to a second trial a week later with an open mind but could not get the Scarlet dress out of my mind despite trying on a number of amazing dresses. The following Monday, I rung Suzanne Neville and placed my order!

The dress, which is part of the Suzanne Neville Songbird Lookbook 2016 collection, is a truly beautiful and unique dress. I felt so special in it and had so many lovely comments on the day.

Here is a bit of a description of the dress:

- It is a floor length sleeveless dress made of Lace and soft Italian crepe. It was custom-made, but would be the equivalent of a UK 6 (which is my usual size);
- The front is a low v-neck, however, there is nude mesh behind the lace (which you cannot see once on the body) that means you feel fully supported in the dress and can lead forward without worrying about it gaping;
- The top of the back of the dress is full lace with satin buttons (in the same fabric as the band around the waist) down to the bottom; and
- Finally, there is a beautiful split up the right-hand side just above the knee which means the dress is incredibly easy to walk in with a hook for holding up the train so it does not drag on the floor.

There are no flaws - the dress has been dry-cleaned and is in great condition.
