The Dress

Gorgeous WToo by Watters dress with the name 'Gigi'. Structured yet relaxed, it has a top made of Mikado, with thin spaghetti straps, sewn-in bra cups and a scoop back, and then a soft net tulle skirt. It originally retails at around £1700, but is seemingly quite hard to get hold of in UK bridal shops. You can find the original brand listing here:

I wore the dress for my April 2023 wedding day and it really was a dream; modest and classic, but with a lovely lightweight, voluminous skirt for dancing — truly ideal for those who want a mix between traditional and contemporary vibes. I purchased it from StillWhite US and paid for some alterations (worth £800 in themselves) that neatened up the alterations that the previous owner must have made. The straps are now perfectly even, darts were re-stitched to suit a medium breast size (I'm a typical UK 12 on top, 14 on bottom), and new discreet hooks were put in to gather the skirt (although you would need to get the waist loops re-sewn if you were to want to put the hitches up yourself; a pretty simple DIY fix). It was floor length on me (5 foot 8, wearing Doc Marten boots on my big day), but could easily be made shorter thanks to the ease of the tulle fabric.

For full transparency, this dress has now been worn twice, by myself and the person I bought it from. As pictured, I took some photos outside on my wedding day in rainy conditions, and though I cleaned the skirt up myself by hand with no damage, you might still notice the odd imperfection on the underskirt if you were to look closely. This wouldn't be at all noticeable when the dress is on, especially because of the skirts layers and volume but I wanted to mention it regardless. I would recommend a dry clean before your own big day just to ensure it's totally immaculate.
