The Dress

I felt so beautiful in this dress! For me, it was the perfect mix of elegant and fun. I wanted the proper white dress experience, but also still look like 'me', and of course feel sexy (not too much to ask is it?!) - and this dress hit it out of the ballpark.

It was also so comfortable to wear. It kept me secure in all the right places but allowed me to eat and drink as much as I wanted and dance the night away.

Description from Hera Couture: "Our Le Lilac gown is pure romance with layer after layer of hand cut and hand sewn tulle floating in cascading tiers. Crafted in ivory... Le Lilac is sweet and stylish. A ‘V’ shaped bodice and back are hand ruched and beautifully draped, with an inbuilt corset for the perfect fit. Please note, there are also fully detachable sleeves which I didn't wear but are a gorgeous additional if you like the really romantic look. These are in perfect condition and will be included with the dress. You can see what these look like on the Hera Couture site.

There is some slight discolouration on the bottom layer of tulle, which I'll of course send you lots of photos of. Due to all the movement of the dress and the translucent layers, it's not very noticeable when on. It got dirty at the start of the day on my wedding day, but it's very hard to see in the photos, and is even more subtle now thanks to the dry cleaning. I'm fairly tall too, so depending on your height you may end up being able to shorten the dress to remove it.

Also for clarity, the 50% discount is on the purchase price only. I have not included any of the alteration or dry cleaning costs. Weddings are SO expensive, so hopefully this means you get to wear a dress you feel amazing in and still stay (somewhat!) in budget.

Alterations

Size: I lost a bit of weight in the lead up to my wedding, so the dress ended up being taken in one exact dress size. Please note this is the size I have listed it as (it was originally a size 12).

Length: The dress is very long in its original form. To take it up, we decided to remove the final layer of tulle, so that there are six tiers in the skirt, rather than the original seven.

Cups: Cups were added to give a little oomph to the cleavage. These were not push-up cups, so still give a very natural shape.

Writs ribbon: A ribbon to go around my wrist for dancing was added to the dress. My tailor very cleverly made this so that it sits underneath the layers of tulle, and when you want to use it you pull it through, so it is not otherwise visible through the translucent material.
