The Dress

Karen Willis Holmes- Addison dress, size AU 12.
Purchased from Brisbane Karen Willis Boutique and altered at Paddington weddings (recommended by KWH).

Alterations:
- Bodice taken in at back zip (to keep boning at seems)
- Hem taken up but can be let down if required- I’m 165 and wore mid-height heels.
- Bustle sewn in.
- Straps taken up and inserted into dress (can be taken down if required).
- cups stitched into dress- can be removed if you like.

I lost weight in the last month leading up to our wedding so it needed alterations, these cost about $500.
I’m fairly curvy so this dress probably fits more like a 10 up top and a 12 around the hips. It gives such a lovely hourglass shape if you have a smaller waist and a bit hippier. I felt so amazing in it. It’s heavy (but not ridiculously hot) and falls beautifully.
The belt is so cute!

I haven’t got around to dry cleaning, so it’s a bit dirty down the bottom, please see photos. It will come up as new. There are no red wine or food stains etc, just dirt. There are no holes or tears. There is a small patch at the bottom of the dress (see photo) that has some sequins missing. These can be hand stitched back on and I have the additional ‘patch up’ sequins that came with the original dress. The way the dress falls you can’t even notice it.
I still have the original dress bag and label with price etc.

I have a long cathedral veil or a shorter one if you interested also. I wore the longer one (2 metres I think) and looked amazing.

I believe dry cleaning is anywhere from $300-$500 at a reputable dry cleaner. KWH will recommend.
