-------
I purchased this dress in 1999 for a wedding that we postponed almost 20 years. I nearly bought a different dress when the big day finally came up, but in the end nothing said bridal to me quite like this one did. The pearls, the pointed sleeves, the magnificent cathedral length train – it's, beautiful, timeless, elegant, and a smidge of that 'vintage' that costs so much these days. The trace of Disney princess helps, too! ;)
I'm uncertain of the style number. Both of these numbers are on the tags inside the dress. I thought it was the RN number, but it seems that number is on a variety of Oleg Cassini dresses, so perhaps that's the number that refers to his brand? I really don't know. The 6224 number was inside the skirt, rather than up in the bodice next to the brand tag, so it may be the manufacturer's part number, as opposed to the actual style number, but I can't find any other numbers on this dress. not that I've been able to find either of these online next to a picture of this dress aside from this SPECIFIC dress, so I don't really think either of those numbers will help you. For that I apologize.
Cut-edge drop veil (118" round cornered square) included. 6-hoop petticoat available on request; $10 USD.
Please, no international buyers; I don't know the first thing about shipping internationally. United States only, thank you.
If you have any questions, or would like a close up picture of anything, feel free to message me. I am more than happy to send whatever information you need about the dress.
All offers will be considered.
-------
The dress is a label size 6, from back when a size 6 was more like today's 2 or 4. My measurements when this picture was taken are 29" band, 34" bust, and a 26" waist. According to David's Bridal's sizing guide, that puts me between at a size 2.
Hollow to floor is the usual roughly 60" you get on an unhemmed David's Bridal dress. I am 5' 7.5", and wearing 2.5" heels in the pictures.
The cathedral length train on this dress is 84" from the waist (the fifth button up on the back) and about 72" wide.
Good for a fall or winter wedding, or someone who is usually cold (like me); it's moderately warm.
------------
I do not know the original retail price, so I'm speculating what it might be worth in today's market, based on the nearest similar dresses I can easily find on David's Bridal's website.
Alterations
The dress used to have a big bow on the butt, but I cut that off, because I didn't like it.
Several of the sequins that were once clear are now champagne tinted. The pearls have a natural warm hue.
3-point bustle and b-cup push up pads were added.
There are 6" of empty satin between the bottom of the lace on the bodice and the top of the lace on the front of the skirt, giving you approximately 6" of room to shorten the dress if needed. Be aware it may be costly to do so. I was quoted $250. I opted to deal with it. It wasn't worth the small difference I needed.
