The Dress

The Anya dress is from Karen Willis Holmes ready-to-wear collection, I purchased from the Subiaco store in Perth WA in 2017. The gown has delicate spaghetti straps and all over sequin detail with slight fishtail skirt. The detachable/overlay Arabella skirt is also by Karen Willis Holmes, I had additional trains sewn in for a fuller skirt affect. Skirt has hook and eye waistband closure. The Anya gown can be worn by itself with the embellished detail belt or with the overlay skirt and the embellished belt on top of that.

The Anya gown is size AU 10 and the Arabella skirt is AU 12 (KWH recommends that the overlay is one size bigger than the dress). I did spend an additional $1500 on alterations at the designers preferred tailor (Final Touches, Claremont WA).

Anya Gown:
-hemming (I wore 11cm heels)
-added bustle
-reduced the silk internal lining so that when it was bustled it was just the sequin dress showing and was not as heavy
-pulled in slightly at waist and bottom so that it showed off features rather than being just a-line
-slightly reduced shoe string straps length

Arabella Skirt + additional trains:
-reduced the waist size by 1cm so that it sat on my waist and didn't drop

I am a standard size AU 10 with a D-cup bust - see below my measurements:
Bust: 94cm
Waist: 76cm
Hips: 89cm
Height: 173cm

I wore the dress, skirt and belt for the Ceremony and then removed the skirt but kept the belt for the reception (November 2017). Dress, skirt and belt have been professionally dry cleaned (Cloud 9, Claremont WA) and comes with the original white KWH gown bag.

I did not opt for cups to be sewn in but you can do, I purchased a corset with a slightly low back separately that worked perfectly. This dress is absolutely beautiful and fits in all the right places, I will definitely be sad to sell but prefer to give another lucky bride the dress of her dreams rather than have it sit in my wardrobe. I just loved being able to wow people with essentially two different dress looks on the night. It is in great condition.
