The Dress

The most beautiful wedding dress, you will look stunning in this!

Dress is from Ronald Joyce, the Victoria Jane collection, number 18003. RRP £1300. It's a classic tulle A-line silhouette with beautiful lace appliques, detailed bodice and beaded waistband. It has a train of approximately 1 meter. Ordered new and delivered in June for my August wedding.

The original dress only had a beaded waistband at the front. I purchased a matching rhinestone belt from the US and had this sewn to the waistband.

I am a size 18. There is a waist stay inside the dress - this is an internal stabiliser which anchors the dress at the waist, therefore the dress is supported here and stays in place and you don't need to fuss at all with it moving or pulling it up/down. The top has light boning so keeps everything in place! There is a hidden zipper down the back, and pretty material covered buttons to cover this.

I had various alterations made to the dress undertaken by an experienced wedding dress seamstress, costing approx. £250, see below for details.

After the wedding, the dress was professionally dry-cleaned at an expert cleaners (as recommended by the bridal boutique where I bought the dress).

If you wanted to try the dress on before purchasing, this is an available option - this could be London, High Wycombe or Hitchin as regularly in these places.

- Shortened for me (all 7 layers!) - I am 5ft7" tall and wore 1.5" heels
- Hooks on top of dress to keep my bra strap hidden
- Rhinestone belt added (USD 83)
- Ribbons attached so that the dress can bustle (train long so you'll probably want to bustle it for the evening if you are dancing/ have many guests)
