The Dress

As a blonde I wasn't prepared to look like a ghost in white on my wedding day. The next requirement was a dramatic train long enough to still be on the steps of the church when I was standing at the altar. The material had to be the feature and the style classical. With this in mind we set off material shopping. We found a beautiful self embossed Jocelyn silk in Oyster. The self embossed flower pattern has a shimmer. With the dressmaker I designed a Princess style, full length wedding dress. The neckline, capped sleeves, hem and train are scalloped. To make this dress as comfortable as possible the dressmaker inserted a whale bone corset, which took the weight of the dress of my shoulders. The train is about 6 metres long and detaches from the dress very discreetly. The veil goes the full length of the train and matches the colour of my dress. All in all I felt like a princess on my wedding day and hope that you will too.
