The Dress

The dress is from Karen Willis Holmes and is in the current Bespoke Studio collection. It is called 'Kitty Bodice Nina Skirt.' The dress was purchased from the Karen Willis Holmes store in Armadale Melbourne. I am a size 8-10 top and size 10-12 bottom so this dress, which is an 8, fit absolutely perfectly. I had beautiful buttons added down the back and I added the belt which is also from Karen Willis Holmes. It can be removed by a dressmaker if you prefer not to have the belt. The fabric is a beautiful thick silk and is structured so it flatters anyone with hips! I felt like a million dollars in this dress. It flows so beautifully and has a small train which the photos show. Elegant with a bit of drama. Bustling is part of the dress so the train can be tied up when you are ready to dance at the end of the night.

I have had the dress dry cleaned from the store recommended by Karen Willis Holmes (it is called Syndal's Bridal Dry Cleaners on High Street Armadale and I have a dry cleaning certificate if you would like to see it). It looks absolutely beautiful. No stains or damage whatsoever on the outside of the dress.

The dress sells for $3199 and on top of that I paid $600 in alterations and $350 in dry cleaning. I would be happy to accept $1499 which I think is incredibly fair and has a significant built in discount given that the dress is still current season.

I had the bodice taken in and so there is room for it to be let out a little. The hem was also brought up so it could be taken down if you are taller than me. I am 166cm and wore 7-8cm heels).
