The Dress

This absolutely gorgeous dress was custom made for me with good quality fabrics that I picked myself. The dress is made from ivory Duchess satin (with lining) with a beautiful embroidered and beaded (glass-work) lace overlay over the whole dress. It has 3/4 length sleeves that can be removed if necessary to make a sleeveless 'queen anne' style neckline. The neckline, keyhole back and train (2.5 feet) feature hand-sewn lace applique work. The back has 4 panels to accommodate the flair and the width of the train. Due to the intricate bead-work, the dress is quite heavy and sits beautifully.

I am a size 16/18 (narrow top and wider hips) and 5 ft 4 inches tall. I wore the dress with 2 inch heels and the bottom skirted the floor perfectly. As the dress is handmade, it is fairly easy to alter to fit. It was an indoor all-in-one location winter wedding, so no dirt/mud or sweat stains on the dress. I am allergic to flowers and perfume so these were not used at the wedding. The dress was not dry-cleaned as dry cleaning chemicals can remove the sheen and lustre from the pearl bead-work. Instead the dress was hand-washed. There is a tiny rip in the lining near the train where my heel got caught. No other obvious damage other than a few loose beads which are barely noticeable.

I wore the dress with a simple plain tulle veil (comb style) and an underskirt (slight rip in the tulle), which are also available with the dress if required. Price is negotiable.
