The Dress

Original 100% silk Anna Campbell Tallulah dress handmade in Melbourne, Australia. If you are looking for an absolutely stunning, yet understated wedding gown - this is the one for you! It was the first dress that caught my eye online, and when I saw it in person, it was love at first sight! I bought this dress from a boutique in February of 2018, but (and happily!) I have found out I am pregnant and will no longer be wearing this dress at my wedding. The dress is no longer available on Anna Campbell’s website.

This dress is like heaven to touch - light and has that extremely luxorious feel that only 100% silk can give you. It is composed of three layers of fabric, two layers of midweight silk underlay with a lighter silk chiffon overlay. There is a beautiful flowing train that can be buttoned up at the back (button comes attached to dress). The dress is true ivory in color. The embellished top of the dress is absolutely stunning, and glistens in the light. The embellished top can be removed so that the dress can be easily dry cleaned.

This gorgeous dress has never been worn or altered. I bought the dress as a sample at a boutique. As it is made in Australia, the label is a size “M”. If you have never tried on an Anna Campbell dress before, they are extremely comfortable and make you feel like a queen! They truly are as beautiful on as you think that they would be. The waistline is satin-wrapped elastic, so it is extremely forgiving for small changes in size up to your wedding day. I am normally a 2/4 in US sizing, and this dress would have only needed minimal alterations in the bust and hemline. The bust is somewhere between a scoop neck and a sweetheart, and comes with thin padding lining the bust, so you feel completely comfortable from head to toe! In addition, the top can be tightened as needed in the back. As it is a sample, I have posted photos of the two flaws that I have noticed after extensive review of the dress. The flaws are as follows:

1) There are three small brown/red dots on the bottom of the middle silk underlay - located at the very bottom and back of the dress (quarter for scale). As you can see, with the top silk chiffon overlay, you can hardly see the dots at all.

2) There are two small snags in the silk sash underneath the embellished top (see photo) where the beads caught the silk.

The entire dress was dry cleaned, and the entire embellished top and sleeve areas were completely rebeaded after I purchased the dress.
