The Dress

The LUCINDA's description from the Luv Bridal (place of purchase) website: Of lace and the finest of tulle, LUCINDA’s construction is unlike any other. Her tiered and panelled lace skirt falls from a sheer bust line, typical of the empire silhouette, to the floor where she is finished with lace and distinctly trainless. Her empire bustline develops into a V neckline and continues in a scalloped lace at an angle over the shoulders and into a low back.
Purchased in August of 2016 and worn in April 2017, this dress is unique on the market. The colour classification is ivory with a slip bodice and a sheer lace over layer. There is a short, hidden zip at the back of the dress, with a series of 8 buttons over the top of the zip.
I loved this dress and felt so comfortable and 'bridal' in it. I could still dance, walk and sit comfortably as it is free flowing and not structured at all. There is not a lot of give or stretch in this dress at all and I would normally have worn a size 12-14 in dress and clothes. I desired the flowy look of the dress as seen in the catalogue picture. It was drycleaned the very next week after wear and has been stored in the wardrobe ever since.

I had four alterations made with the bridal store seamstress as I'm smaller up top and wider in the hips: the neckline V taken in a bit to sit flush and fitted across my chest and shoulders, bra cups inserted and sewn in (which can be removed) and the dress taken out the maximum of 4cm at the hips to give it the free flowing fit as opposed to 'snagging' across the widest part of my body! I also had the boning at the breast cut to give a more smooth and less 'pointy' look. These totalled $340 and its my understanding that this dress can be altered to be made smaller at any point.
