The Dress

First, I need to say this: This was my dream dress. I tried it on in store and felt like a princess. There's a video of me where a friend says, "Oh my god, you look like a queen." I love this dress. I LOVE this dress. But I have not worn this dress.

I bought this dress used here on StillWhite. It was already altered and was not dry cleaned. I haven't had it dry cleaned myself. My wedding is still over a year away. When I first got it, I liked the way it fit. Since then, I haven't stopped weight training and my back has gotten bulkier. While the dress still fits, I no longer like the way the back looks scrunched up (you can see this in one of the pictures). I've already cried about this development for weeks.

I am definitely really disappointed I can't keep this dress. I considered trying to lose more weight to fit into it, or spending money to have it altered and let out, but I just can't commit to not eating donuts for a whole year or spending more hard earned cash money.

About this dress: It fits a small 2, definitely a size 0. My measurements are 34, 25.5, 38. The length is for a shorty: I'm 5'2 and the person who owned this dress before me was 5'1 and wore 3in heels. Personally, I think I could have gotten away with wearing 3in heels or higher and still had it drag on the floor. If you have broad-ish shoulders or a bulkier back from lifting, this might not fit as well just because the sheer back has NO give to it at all. It was only worn by the first owner outside.

Not dry-cleaned. Since it was preowned, it has only been worn once outside. There is some collected dirt on the hem of the skirt where it dragged but barely noticeable, which is why I didn't bother dry-cleaning. Some of the beading is a little loose but honestly only noticeable if you've got it right in front of your eyes and looking for flaws.
