The Dress

This is a size 8 Karen Willis Holmes 'Alexandra' gown purchased for my wedding in December 2017. I bought it from the Karen Willis Holmes boutique in Armadale, Victoria. It is sequin all down the middle (front and back) with beautiful side panel detail of beading, embroidery and sequins on both sides. Includes a matching sequin and silk belt (as shown in photos). Extremely flattering on any size and is stretchy for comfort - Karen herself described it as a "comfortable t-shirt dress".

I fell in-love with the dress because of its heavily embroidered, floral motives and sequins. The design is so exquisite. I felt that a tulle overlay and even a veil wasn't required because I didn't want to cover up the beautiful, handcrafted design of the dress. The train can be tied up so you can dance easily, and although the dress is made up primarily of sequins, you don't notice the weight while dancing - I was able to dance the night away!

I wore it all day with absolutely no trouble whatsoever and the only reason I am selling it is because I won't be wearing it again! I hope this dress brings another bride as much joy as it brought me. I felt like a princess when wearing it and yet it was so comfy!! :) I am petite and generally a size 8-10 when it comes to other dresses and size 8 fit me perfectly like a glove!

Alterations done:-
(a) Hemming package: I had it hemmed to fit my height (152 cm) with 2 inch (5 cm) heels.
(b) Got the shoulders taken in as my shoulders aren't broad.

***Alterations were done by seamstress at Karen Willis Holmes boutique at Armadale, Victoria. It is a low back but after extensive research, I found the perfect Nancy Ganz shapewear to wear underneath the dress and can tell you exactly which one to buy!

Dress was stored at the boutique till the day before the wedding and drycleaned immediately after the wedding. It looks perfect! Original receipts/tags are available as well as a KWH gown bag.
