The Dress

My wedding dress was made to order by Wendy Makin in Melbourne, Australia. Wendy Makin is known for using only the highest quality fabrics and production techniques.

This dress truly is the epitome of style and grace. Very comfortable to wear, and also very versatile; it has two looks due to the overskirt that comes with it. The overskirt is easily put on and removed thanks to the clip on belt. I wore the dramatic overskirt for the ceremony, and slipped out of it for the reception which allowed me to dance all night with ease.

The lace work is stunning, and the dress photographs beautifully.

It has been drycleaned by the most reputable wedding dress drycleaner in the city. He did mention there were slight red wine and dirt marks on the under-side of the train of the gown, however when looking for them today I have been unable to find the red wine stain, and the dirt mark was barely visible.

There is a small tear in the under-side of the bottom of the overskirt (not the dress itself), which happened when my heel got hooked on it (we had a very windy wedding day!). I am told by my alterations lady that this could easily be altered out since the overskirt has such a long train (approx. 1.7 metres long). Even without alterations, it is barely noticeable.

I have been super picky when having a look for any imperfections; it's your wedding day, after all! But I can confirm the dress really is in excellent condition.
