The Dress

Vera Wang Luxe Wedding Dress, Style 12147, from the Spring 2007 Bridal Collection

A strapless, soft A-line wedding dress with a draped tulle empire bodice, split skirt and drop-waist back. Made from ivory matte tissue organza and tulle. Beneath the split skirt, there is an under skirt made from tulle in a blush colour, which is very subtle but can be seen when the dress catches the light. The train can be hooked up for easier manoeuvrability (see 6th photo). NB it did not come with the dark band worn with it in the Vera Wang catwalk photos (photos 7 and 8).

The dress label is US 8 (UK 12), however the bodice was fitted to me (32 D bra size) and the fit is probably closer to a small UK 12 / UK 10. I am 5 foot 7inches (170cm), and was wearing 4 inch (10cm) heels.

The dress was dry cleaned by specialist wedding dress cleaners Perry de Montaignac. A few light marks remain on the side skirt but these are unlikely to be seen when worn.

Comes with the original Vera Wang dust cover. Veil not included.
