The Dress

This dress was brand new to the Mikaella collection when I purchased in December 2016 for my May 2017 wedding. It was the perfect dress for my southern Maine beach wedding. The dress is incredibly comfortable, and has a sophisticated, classy, timeless look.

The high, bateau neckline looks sophisticated, and the low back and V-shaped underarm detailing add some allure to the dress. It's also easy to just step out of the dress when you need to take a restroom break! The fabric was heavy enough that it gave the dress structure so it didn't just blow around in the breeze during our ceremony on the beach.

The long train has fabric-covered buttons all the way down, and it looks great in pictures and as you walk down the aisle. I ended up doing a ballroom bustle which made the dress appear all one length for the reception (I highly recommend as it looked great in pictures!)

The dress has been cleaned, and when it was returned to me I was told that "it looks brand new - you should sell it!" So that's what led me to look into online resale options!

It's too bad you only wear your wedding dress once as I would love to have an excuse to wear this dress again! If this looks like your style, I assure you won't be disappointed!

Because I am quite tall (5'10") and wore 2 inch heels, I did not have to adjust the overall length of the dress. Cups were added, which can be easily removed (there's just a couple small stitches holding those in place). The back of the dress, by the top of the zipper, was taken in a little bit to fit snugly against my lower back. But overall, I did not require many alterations, and the dress could easily be modified to fit a new wearer.
