The Dress

Cheyenne Gown - Claire Pettibone

This gown is made of the most beautiful floral lace with a draped cameo motif along the scalloped edge. It has a sleeveless illusion neckline with a detailed button back closure (the buttons are covered in lace!) and a flowing dramatic train. It's an absolutely stunning wedding dress with the perfect blend of vintage and modern, sexy and demure, and the special lace detail evokes romance. It would fit into virtually any theme or setting but especially a vintage, bohemian feel.

I purchased this dress in early 2017 at Blackburn Bridal, a very upmarket boutique in Blackheath, London. I only tried on 7 dresses and knew this Claire Pettibone, Cheyenne gown was the one! I fell in love with the lace, how easy it is to wear (it was important to me that I could move freely and not feel restricted), the way it creates a gorgeous silhouette and how it falls away at the back in to a beautiful embroidered train - stunning! I chose a nude lining to bring out the detail of the vintage lace design. I wanted something slightly different to the more traditional gowns and this was perfect.

We were married in May last year (2017) and the dress was actually only worn for circa 6/7 hours (I changed later on) and is therefore in excellent condition. It has been dry cleaned (the dry cleaner was amazed at how immaculate it was post wedding!) and I have purchased a handmade wedding dress box for it. The dress was made in a US 6 and was altered around the bust and waist, I think it would be suitable for a small UK size 8 – I can provide exact measurements when required.

I loved wearing this dress and I hope another happy bride will be able to enjoy the same pleasure it gave me.
