The Dress

Paloma Blanca 3850 in champagne silk and ivory Alencon lace. Paloma Blanca makes some of the nicest silk and lace gowns. Really lovely dress - received many compliments. Size 10 runs between a street size 6 and 8. At the time I wore this dress, my measurements were approximately [removed]. I am 5'7" with about a 33" inseam, and this gown ended up just brushing the ground (I wore flats).

The original buttons (which were on the bodice only) were removed and changed out for new buttons extending to the hem (see image), and button loops were added at the bodice. This gown has fastenings for both a French and a traditional bustle; I wore it with the traditional bustle (see image).

An inner corset or ("safety belt") and bra cups were added for additional support. The waistline was raised slightly (thereby shortening the overall length), the bodice was let out in the back and taken in at the sides of the bust to prevent "winging."

The biggest flaw with this dress is that both of the spaghetti straps broke during the reception; thankfully, the added inner corset prevented any wardrobe malfunctions! There may also be a few loose buttons.
