The Dress

Size 8-10 Au | "Diana" by Sally Eagle.

Super romantic and I think fairly unique style of dress. Old-fashioned, classic silhouette and flattering. Ivory lace bodice and gorgeous light champagne silk crepe de chine skirt with pleats. I could go on about this dress forever but I think the photos speak for themselves. I flew to New Zealand to purchase this dress from Sally Eagle.

IMPORTANT: It was made to my measurements so it is actually between an 8 and a 10 and I am 5"8 and only wore 1cm flats. I chose to not have a full train but it does have a small "puddle" of length at the back of the skirt. For this reason, the dress differs to the stock images and other photos you may see of this design. I wanted it lower maintenance and I still think it looked lovely without the full train. Some photos of the diana dress will show an ivory skirt instead. Exact measurements available on request.

Description from designer: "The intricate lace bodice is sectioned into panels with a delicate scalloped edging separating each one. Unlike the front, the back is unlined enabling the lace detail to stand out against the skin. The luxurious silk skirt is pleated at the top to create folds and waves cascading down to the hem line."

Dress purchased for $2800 NZ dollars which is around Au [removed] depending on the exchange rate at the time. With bank fees etc for international (but minusing the shipping) I paid about Au2600.

Nothing to the naked eye, fabric perhaps slightly rougher close to hem after dry cleaning but I'm being picky - it may have just been variation in the fabric. Please note, as this is silk and it creases, if I need to re-box and post it, you will likely need it steamed just before your wedding to ensure the pleats are neat and there aren't creases. I've seen other people not worry and it still looks pretty with a few soft lines but I got it re-steamed and pressed the week before my wedding.
I wore this dress for my ceremony, portrait session and the early part of my reception. Nothing was spilled on it but it was worn outdoors.
