The Dress
Overview: Stunning Berta gown with a full skirt, silver payette beading and subtle floral appliques in the top. Deep v-neck mirrored in the back. The skirting is comprised of 5 layers (medium-weight base layer, two shades of ivory. one of dots, top layer of 'plaid'). Hooping can easily be added to the skirt to exaggerate the shape. It's honesty the most incredibly dress, which even the male guests were interested in examining layer by layer! Perfect for the bride who wants something classic by edgy, dramatic yet refined... while it embraces recent bridal gown trends, it's really a timeless silhouette.
Fit: The dress is a Berta 38. I am 5'10" and wore 3-inch heels, so the skirt length should be long enough for almost any girl! The body of the dress doesn't have any structuring so can easily be tailored.
Wear: I wore this dress for a 6:30pm ceremony followed by a cocktail hour and dinner. I changed into another outfit for the reception and dancing.
Me: It was a difficult decision to sell this dress I love but I've just bought a house and have realised priorities are difficult!
1) Straps opened at the seam at top of shoulder [Berta fits very short in the waist]
2) Stiff shaped cups removed and replaced with thin, soft ones for a more natural look
3) Hemmed
