The Dress

Love, love, loved this dress. Gorgeous, classic lace dress (with silk lining underneath). It's kind of white/ kind of ivory? All I know was it worked well with my skin tone and I trust Monique Lhuillier to make the best dresses :) So I bought this dress from Neiman Marcus a few years ago for my wedding. I wore it for the day and that was it! I had so many compliments on it - and still do when people see photos. I've recently had it in-depth, professional dry cleaned so its 100% ready to go (happy to share receipt) - the dry cleaning was $550.

I haven't really had "size alterations" done to the dress... Even though I'm a size 4 in street dresses - this is actually a 2 and b/c of the style it fits me great. I've done updates to make it more flattering (spent over $600 on alterations), including:

1. Added a sash (since the back is open this dress doesn't work well with a sash, so I had it attached - it basically made me look more curvy since I'm pretty skinny) instead of straight like a lot of these dresses can do.

2. I added a ever so slight mermaid flair to the bottom of the dress to give it a little more flow. If you've tried scarlet on in person at a store, you probably wouldn't notice the difference, but again - it made the dress just a tad more flattering.
I imagine all of these things could be "undone" if you wanted to - but frankly, they're upgrades that you get for free (so I'd say that's a great deal!)

3. Bustle added in the back (there are 5 buttons and 5 loops - they are REALLY REALLY hard to find - but that's a good thing, but you can't tell they're there when the dress isn't bustled). They're all in working condition.
