The Dress

This is a brand new dress in a pearl mikado fabric. It is a bit heavier fabric and is very forgiving. I purchased this dress in 2016 for my wedding, and we found out our venue was shut down 3 months before our wedding date. Our new venue did not suit the style of wedding dress, and so I never ended up wearing this dress.

It is a size 10 US, in white. It looks more white in the photos because it is against cream coloured walls - I prefer an ivory over a white colour, but in this dress I felt the white looked nicer. It is super simple, but very elegant. I ordered it in a corset back, which makes it pretty flexible for sizing. For reference my measurements were 36, 28, 37. I ordered a size larger than was recommended by the bridal shop (they recommended an 8) because I wanted to make sure I had enough bust space. I think an 8 or a 10 would have worked just fine for me (just less of a gap in the corset with the 10).

I had a couple minor alterations done: a layer or two of the underskirt was removed to take out some of the fullness of the skirt (I was told it is very easy to add back if needed), and I had the cups rounded a bit as they were a little pointy when the dress came in, in July of 2016. I believe the retail price was $2350, I paid $1600 Canadian (there was a sale and a discount for not purchasing the belt). I want to recoup some of my costs, and am asking for half of what I paid ($800).
