This beautiful backless dress of my dreams is well travelled...sourced all the way from Dublin, Ireland. The designer Elbeth Gillis, is South African and she does not have an Australian stockist so you can be rest assured that it is a one of a kind in Australia. I fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on for its fitted elegance, the french lace and the crystal detail on the bodice.
The under layer is ivory satin crepe with a delicate Chantilly lace overlay. It has a V-neck with lace capped sleeves and it is embellished with shimmering Swarovski crystals on the bodice and in the waist to make a belt like appearance. The Swarovski crystals are unique and absolutely precious. The chapel-length scalloped lace train can be buttoned up to allow ease of moment on the dance floor!
The dress got slightly altered around the waist and hips to fit my body shape. It was done by a professional seamstress, so can be undone. My details were as follows- Bust- 86cms, Waist- 70cms, Hips- 102cms, Height- 174cms (I wore very flat shoes). She also attached some very soft, high quality pads to make it more comfortable around the bust. This dress is light and absolutely comfortable to wear!
The dress got dry cleaned immediately after the wedding and is ready to be worn. It is perfect for a vintage wedding, for coloured, but also black and white photography. I felt absolutely beautiful in it.
