The Dress

Hey there! Firstly, CONGRATS!!!! This is such a fun and exciting time, but unless you have an unlimited budget, it can seem incredibly daunting and stressful at times. I shopped around A LOT for a dress... I wanted something elegant but simple which was shockingly difficult to find amidst what felt like a sea of heavy tulle and uncomfortable boning and underwires. FINALLY, I found what I was looking for in the Calla gown by Rose and Delilah!

The gown is made of a heavy, soft, luxurious silk that drapes your body in just the right places. It has just a thin lining underneath ensuring that it is not see-thru but still comfortable and not heavy like so many of the other dresses I tried on. While the front is quite simple, showcasing the embellished lace only at the shoulders, the back of this dress is where the real party is at! The lace at the shoulders transforms into a beautiful cowl back *swoon* but words don't do it justice...just check out the photos!

I got SO many compliments on how original and beautiful this dress was and would love for another lucky bride to wear this on her special day! Please don't hesitate to contact me for more photos... many of the professional photos were too large in format size to upload.

I paid $ 2, 600 CAN for this gown BEFORE taxes and alterations. After all was said and done, I had paid close to $ 3, 500. I also paired this gown with the Poppy sash by Untamed Petals (view here: https://amandajudgeny.com/product/poppy-sash/#.WIzWYLYrLq0). I paid $ 180 for the sash (before taxes) and am willing to offer it to you for free with purchase of the dress. It can easily be removed or kept on according to your style and preference.

Alterations:
The dress was taken in as I lost weight before the wedding, as were the straps. For reference, I was a size 6-8 when I bought the dress and was a size 4-6 when I wore it in Oct. 2016. I am about 5"3. Loops were sewn into the straps to in order to affix my bra straps to them. A little flap was sewn into the low back to pull the bra down in the back. Similarly, a little flap was put in to hold the top of my Spanx down. I had this dress dry-cleaned, however, there are a few dirt stains on the bottom of the dress that remain. I will gladly send photos for serious prospective buyers.
