The Dress

Not usually one for princess dresses, fussy detailing and sparkles, I wanted to find a dress that was simple, elegant, flattering and timeless. As soon as I tried on Freja, I knew that this ticked all of those boxes. I loved the silk tulle fabric; it made the dress give off an ethereal vibe that I hadn't experienced with any other dress.

I loved the way the sleeves could be adjusted throughout the day and night - from having little tulle sleeves draping around my arm during the day, to tulle straps, making it sleeveless at night time.

The dress was so flattering and comfortable too, and everyone remarked on how beautiful the back of it was as I swooshed around the dancefloor during the first dance. As a very low maintenance kind of girl, I was delighted to be able to bustle up the little silk tulle train - it meant I could be hands free for most of the day and it also meant that the dress is in impeccable condition. I refused to get any speck of dirt on it at all!

As the Anna Campbell website rightfully says, this dress is perfect for the understated, free-spirited bride. I didn't take their advice and go for a glittering headpiece because of my silly afro hair :D ... but I'd say it would look stunning if you have the right hair for it!

I had little spaghetti straps built into the dress so that I could have the option of the draped tulle sleeves around the arm. They just create yet another way of wearing the dress, which is no bad thing!
