The Dress

Suzanne Harward hand made by couture wedding dress in her Melbourne studios. The dress is too beautiful to be boxed and needs to be worn by another very lucky bride. Suzanne Harward is a pioneer of Australian bridal fashion, designing fashion-forward couture gowns which have been handmade in Melbourne, since 1975.

My dress is a two piece gown with an off the shoulder bodice that features an extremely low v back. The bodice is fully boned and hand beaded with french lace. The skirt is silk and fitted at the waist and falls straight down the body. It feels so amazing against your skin. It has a small train which can be bustled when the dancing begins. The colour is a beautiful champagne colour that suits most complexions.

The gown was altered to suit my tastes. The top originally sat straight across the back like the front but my dream dress had to have a low back so they altered it and were amazed at how good it looked. Apparently it was a lot of work involved so they were not offering it to future brides! The bodice sits so perfect on top of the skirt that you would not even know that it is a two piece. This is a fashion forward gown but still holds old Hollywood glamour elegance.

It has been professionally dry cleaned by Syndal dry cleaners and comes with the original Suzanne Harward bag.

Also available is the veil from the designer. I am 168 cm tall and wore 8.5cm heels on the day.

I cannot express how much I loved wearing this dress. I felt like a true princess on the most special day. I really hope someone else gets to have the experience that I did.
