The Dress

This is Monique's iconic white/cream 'Meringue' skirt worn by many Hollywood celebs (think Guiliana Rancic, Vanessa Minnillo (married to Nick Lachey)). I wore this at my April 2015 wedding in England.

I had the dress fitted and ordered from Monique Lhuillier's upper east side boutique in New York (nice excuse to hit New York twice...!). Note that Brown's do sell some limited Monique Lhuillier designs, and said they would be happy to order this one for me from the U.S. The dress retails (without alterations and without the extension) for about £3,500.

I had the skirt custom made with a long train. It was extended an extra 2 feet. The skirt's label size is US 6, however the skirts come up small in size, so it is really a size 4 US (I am a UK size 6 which is a size 2 US, and this fit me just fine with an additional belt to cinch me in). I am 5'7 but I wore Jimmy Choo shoes (4 inch heel).

The skirt comes with an amazing bustle - you can see how neat it bustles in the pics. Gorgeous Monique Lhuillier tailoring...!

The custom chapel length veil (Tony Federici designer) originally measured at 108'', but I had it extended by 3 feet. The border of the veil is lined with crystals and really does add a touch of elegant shimmer to the whole outfit. I am giving the veil away for free given there are two small rips (see next box for description).

I wore the skirt with a gorgeous hand beaded crystal/pearl encrusted corset and matching belt (both from Monique Lhuillier, and both bought separately). This skirt can be matched with any of her bodices or any belt (originally it was styled with the matching meringue bodice) and any belt. I am choosing to keep the bodice as I can wear that again on a special occasion with trousers/skirts (possibilities are endless - look at Emma Stone at the 2014 Golden Globes...!).

I am selling the skirt only. Many Monique Lhuillier brides mix and match many corsets/belts with the skirt - they all work wonderfully. Just do a google search to see what I mean...!

There is a very small rip in the veil (I managed to get it caught under the chair at the ceremony and walked off without realising...!) and there is a tear at the border of the veil where the crystals are (about the length of 17 spotted crystals?) - the piece at the border 'hangs' off but hasn't come apart completely. Both can be hand sewn back together in my opinion. The veil is being offered free of charge as it matches the skirt beautifully.
