The Dress

I am selling my beautiful and much loved Phillipa Lepley couture wedding dress, worn only once for 8 hours. Size 8/10.

I really wanted a classic and not-too-fussy dress that looked stunning on and made me feel special and it took me a long time to find this, but I knew it was 'the one' it straight away!

The style of the dress is 'Venice Sapphire Waterlilly' and it was hand made over the course of 6 fittings from slipper satin with a tulle over layer. There is an inbuilt corset/bra and the dress falls beautifully as the satin is of a lovely heavy (but not heavy to wear!) quality, with the single layer of tulle on top not detracting from the fitted shape but giving extra interest and fullness in the skirt so that despite the relatively simple design of the dress it still looks like a very special wedding gown.

The very top of the corset has a border of sapphire lace which is a lovely detail (but not too much lace!) and I had the dress made specifically so that it was a little more fitted around the waist and hips to give a slightly hourglass/fishtail shape.

There is a lovely large train at the back of the dress (see pictures) which looked amazing in the church and it can be tied up later on at the drinks/reception (also see pictures).

I am 5ft 9 and a size 8/10 with a bra size of a 34/36 B/C. I wore kitten heels on the day so the total dress height I think would be about 5ft 10, so plenty of length for alterations if needed.

The dress has been professionally dry cleaned at Jeeves of Belgravia (as recommended by Phillipa Lepley) and has not been removed from the box and protective packaging since being returned from the dry cleaners.

I also had a 3/4 length lace shrug/bolero made to go with the dress, which you can see in the pictures. This is not included in the dress price, but I would be happy to sell it at the same time if anyone is interested. The original cost of the shrug was £1,600 but I would sell for 1/3 of the price as with the dress, so approx £500 but this is negotiable.
