The Dress

I am selling my ‘Jewel’ gown by New York couture designer Elizabeth Fillmore. Its unusual and striking Art Deco design has delicate embellishment across the front and a stunning low back, with a silk tie that flows elegantly to the floor. It has a beautiful, long chapel train, which can be buttoned into a bustle (for dancing). The style is inspired by the 1930s, with an old Hollywood or Gatsby feel, but is incredibly sophisticated and unlike any other Art Deco dress I have seen.

The gown has two full layers of silk charmeuse fabric, cut on the bias. The silk is layered in such a way that the luminous (and luxuriously soft) side of the silk that you see in the pictures, is against your skin on the inner layer - so you will feel as beautiful as you will look.

The gown is clean, unworn and is unaltered, ready for your seamstress to tailor for you. However it currently has three small areas that you will want the seamstress to tidy up when getting your alterations – a short section of the seam (around 2cms) that needs to be sewn back together, a single missing crystal to be replaced, and some minor pulls in the fabric to be removed. For this reason I have reduced the price in hope of a quicker sale.

I purchased the gown from Brown’s Bride in November (original price was £4000), having fallen instantly in love with it after trying it on. However sadly I’ve decided that I need a dress with more support at the front (I’m an F cup!) so am selling this on in the hope someone else can get a huge amount of joy from it, as well as an exceptional bargain.
