The Dress

The Eliza Jane Howell Bridal Collection says opulence, glamour and Hollywood red carpet style. The beadwork and cut of the gowns have stepped right out of the golden era of fashion.

Beautifully beaded dress on silk chiffon fabric. A simple silhouette with twisted capped sleeves, v-neck at the front and back (low back) with a puddle train. Zip closure at the back. The pearlised sequin detail on this dress are linear and cascades from the waist band down. Beaded satin belt at the waistline. Simply stunning.

Designer
Gill Harvey, the designer, named the collection after her Grandmother and took inspiration from exquisite vintage gowns. She then worked her magic to design a collection with the modern day bride in mind – sophisticated, decadent and oozing glamour.

Dress worn once on my wedding day in October 2014. RRP £2,700. Everyone loved that it is a little different from your traditional white dress. I am 5ft 10 and it was still touching the floor, but can be taken in or up by an alterations seamstress.

It went well with my loose Gatsby, 1930's theme. It is very light to wear, it swishes as you walk and is a slightly longer at the back which makes a nice short train and pools when you're standing still. There is a hidden strap inside to put round your wrist in case you want to keep hold of it.

It has little chiffon cap sleeves and a hidden soft hook to put inside the front of your bra to ensure it stays in place. You would need a very low back/backless bra to wear with it, or it has softly padded cups so comfortable to wear without a bra as well (even if its cold outside!).
As it was worn there are a few minor drinks marks on the 100% silk lining & there's a small tear at the bottom of the train which are both barely noticeable, hence the reduced price. The retail price is £2,700 new. I've added a photos of everything and absolutely encourage you to come and try on so you can see in reality.

I wore it with silver sparkly pointed shoes from Dune (also for sale on here) and a corsage floral arrangement. My bridesmaids wore navy (the new spare dresses are also for sale on here). I am also selling a big new white umbrella we never needed on the day and a wedding headband I didn't wear in the end.

I'd love someone else to have the chance to wear such a wonderful dress, rather than keeping for sentimentality. Especially those who can't/don't want to wait 6wks for the bridal stores to have their dresses ready! No doubt you could also re-sell afterwards if you wish as the dress is so classic and timeless.

Freshly dry cleaned last week. Now in a protective cover in a pet and smoke-free home.
