The Dress

I took a chance and bought this beautiful new dress online without trying it on (first rule of wedding dress shopping!) and sadly it doesn't fit me properly.

Margot is from the La Folie Douce 2015 collection by Belgian designer Rembo Styling and has a vintage/bohemian feel, so would suit a traditional or destination wedding. It is a smallish size 12 so I have listed it as street size 10. The dress comes in two parts: a dove grey slip and a lace overlay in ivory with a soft tiered skirt in spotted tulle. It has a small train. The slip gives it a vintage look but is very pale (see photos) – I had planned to match my bridesmaids' dresses to bring it out more. The straps on the slip form part of the back design. I absolutely love this dress and the lovebird lace on the back is beautiful.

It cost £1450 from The Wedding Club in London, has only been tried on (not altered in any way), is in brand new condition with the tags on and comes in a protective wrapper and bag. You're welcome to try it on days or evenings in Waterhouses, Staffordshire (not far from Derby or Stoke). Alternatively, you could do what I should have done in the first place and make an appointment to try it on in store first. I did struggle to find a sample anywhere in the midlands/north though (which is partly why I rushed into buying it) so if you're not too far away it might be easier to try it on at my house.
