The Dress

This is an elegant and unique wedding dress from the talented designer Johanna Hehir – called Marilyn I felt every inch the film star wearing this one of a kind creation.

Designer size 10 and I normally wear a 10/12 high street – small alterations were performed on the halterneck but basically it is an off the rack size 10.

Satin halterneck with chiffon pleats which create the wow factor of the dress – the skirt is floaty and graceful. The dress also features a gorgeous thick cumberbund style middle section of Italian lace with pearlised and glass beads – the finishing touch being the small buttons down the back.

This dress worked exceptionally well for our English country garden wedding and I teamed with 1930’s style shoes from Rachel Simpson – but I feel this could be accessorised in many different styles to compliment your wedding theme and would even work well as a destination wedding dress!

I am also selling the lace shrug included in the price (originally £499) – this for me complimented the dress and gave it a demure and classic look for the church and formal parts of the day – but once removed revealed the sexy dress back – this dress rocked to dance in as the floaty skirt was awesome to party in and did not require tying up or assistance with trips to the loo etc!

Professionally cleaned by a wedding dress dry cleaner the week after the wedding – the dress is immaculate and comes with the original bag and hanger.

I loved every aspect of my wedding day – especially the dress which received many many compliments, I wouldn’t have changed it - also and it was nice to be wearing something so distinctive and special and not the more commonly seen strapless styles.

Sad to see the dress go but currently live abroad with limited storage plus just had a baby boy so money will go towards him…
