The Dress
Justin Alexander Wedding Dress. Worn once.
Based on the Lillian West 6472 (the last 3 photos) but then greatly altered creating a one of a kind piece which cannot be found anywhere else.
A tulle gown with all over embroidered floral appliqués which begin at the v-neckline and continue throughout the body of this fit and flare gown including a finished hem lace train.
The dress is Ivory / Champagne and Size 8. Although it is fitted, it is very comfortable to stand, sit and dance in (even after a huge meal!) and would probably fit a size 10 as I have a 34” back. I had cups added to the body which could be removed for a larger bust. I am 5’7’’ and 9 1/2 stone.
The keyhole sheer back was removed and the lace shaped to create a V back which is low but not too revealing. The buttons then start and continue down the dress. There are two hooks ready to bustle the train in the evening.
The front originally had sheer straps but I had the lining extended to remove the strapless effect and create a full V.
I had the lining under the train cut off at the back to make the dress easier to move in and to fully show off the design of the lace train.
I could not have been happier with this dress for my wedding day. It felt special, unique and beautiful without feeling over the top or excessive. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I understand its a huge decision and I didn’t dare buy a dress online but this one is so wonderful it would be a shame not to be worn again. For those living in London I would be happy for someone to collect and try on.
The dress was originally £1,500 and I then spent £500 on alterations so £2k in total.
