The Dress
I absolutely adored wearing my classic wedding dress. I chose from the Karen Willis Holmes 'Design Your Gown' option, and it was made especially for our wedding in June 2019. It was so comfortable, easy to walk, dance and sit in, and I didn't want to take it off. It moved incredibly, as I hope you can see in the rather ad hoc film I've attached! It was long for the ceremony and bustled up for the reception - there is also a hoop on the inside of the skirt to help you to move the dress around when un-bustled. I hope that it can have an amazing second life as someone else's wedding dress on their special day too.
I am selling the dress WITH the veil INCLUDED in the price. The veil is from Raffaele Ciuca, and is ivory tulle with ivory satin trim. It is about 3m long. The satin on the veil is slightly marked from dragging in the dirt and has not been dry cleaned. If you don't want the veil that is completely fine, but it is included in the price if you'd like it.
The sparkly belt I wore was purchase from KWH but did not come with the dress, and I am not selling it as I still wear it! (although KWH still sells them). Instead I am including the original fine ivory belt in the same fabric as the dress. This belt is about 7mm wide, very simple and quite long.
We got married in winter (a dry day) and I wore the dress all day. It had some marks on the very bottom edge of it (the bit that touches the ground, not obvious from afar), but after professional dry cleaning (certificate included, dress professionally boxed and sealed following this) there were almost no detectable marks left on the dress, I was very impressed!
More photos of my dress on an official KWH Instagram post from 26th July 2019.
I now live in London and this dress is in the care of my mum who lives in the inner south-east suburbs of Melbourne. We are very happy to facilitate you trying on the dress prior to buying it, but only if you are serious about buying it and are able to go to her.
Alterations
The skirt is KWH 'Nina' - but WITHOUT the 'high-low' hem that is more frequently photographed. The top is the Harper top with the cap sleeves removed as this gave a more streamlined look through my torso.
KWH sizing originally was size 12 on the top and size 10 on the bottom but there were quite a few alterations to the bust part of the top to bring it in to fit me, so it is probably more like a size 10-11 now.
The seamstress in KWH loved altering it for me, partly because it is such a classic design and partly because it is very easy to alter as there is no complex detailing. It was also easy to dry clean for the same reason.
I am 164cm tall and wore Bared Kea heels (75mm) with the dress.
