The Dress

This Rue de Seine dress is an absolute dream. After trying it on I knew there was no going back. I searched everywhere for something like it (as it is made in and shipped from New Zealand and quite hard to get from the US. There are very few shops that sell this designer.) It was purchased brand new, and worn once. To say that this romantic bohemian gown is beautiful is an understatement. The boned bodice gives so much support, and I was perfectly comfortable in it through the entire day and night. The skirt is fluid with a lightweight lace flare and train. I had a bustle (containing 7 buttons) added so that the train was completely out of the way for the reception and dancing. The detail of this dress is so exceptional that it is just as gorgeous when up in the bustle as it is down and flowing. The gown is dry cleaned. I have very slightly hemmed the front of this dress to my 5’8 height (I wore completely flat sandals) which depending on your height, allows a decent amount of room for alterations! All alterations were done by a very sought out seamstress that I was beyond pleased with. After taxes and shipping this dress costs $3,795 originally. While it is listed on the designer's website for $3,350, that price is does not include taxes, shipping, overhead fee from buying it from a bridal shop that carries this line, or the addition of the 7 button bustle (absolutely necessary if you plan on wearing this dress into reception and dancing-and trust me when I tell you you won’t want to take it off). I am currently selling my dress for $1995, which is $1,800 less than what I paid before alterations. I can guarantee it is worth every penny.

Alterations

Minimal length hemmed (I am 5-8 and wore completely flat shoes).
I had a bustle (containing 7 buttons that are completely invisible when train is down) added so that the train was totally out of the way for the reception and dancing. See last picture.
