The Dress

This modern, structural gown is simple but statement.

From GYC's 'Nolita' 2019 Ready to Wear collection, the gown has a mini mesh overlay in white with white silk underlay with a structured inner bodice built into the gown with a concealed zip back.

GYC sure knows how to dress a girl with curves. The strategic ribbing in the skirt enhances, flatters and flows beautifully. One shouldered to draw the eye upwards, the bodice sits flush against the body with boning inside ensuring everything stayed in place and secure with no lumps or bumps showing from any angle while being very comfortable. The mesh overlay creates structure without being overwhelming with detail.

Lightweight and easy to dance in, movement was effortless and there are no bad angles in this gown.

It has been professionally dry cleaned by Leon's Dry Cleaners in Brisbane and looks brand new.

Wearing this gown on my wedding day was a delight, feeling bridal, elegant and modern. Guests still comment on how "modern, statement and a twist on classical" the gown was. From the aisle to the dance floor, this dress is perfection and while I'm saddened to part with the stunning gown I (still) adore, feel that it deserves to make another lady shine on her wedding day.

- Sizing is my measurements for the final alterations (not the GYC size 14 measurements)

Alterations

- Fitted underlining to be slightly more A-line (was more flowing previously). Small split in back to allow walking, not restrictive
- Shortened skirt as I wore flats (bottom layer of frill lifted accordingly)
- Waist and bodice taken in
- Bustle and wrist loop added
