I needed a dress in a short timeline so I bought it straight with Carolina Herrera through Marina Morrison boutique at San Francisco. I kept all of the original receipts and sales contract. It had been professionally dry cleaned and preserved immediately after my wedding.
Alterations
I'm barely 5'1 so I took the length in (folded not hemmed, which can be easily taken out); I also took the original size 4 into a size 2. The alteration was done by a tailor that had 20+ years of experiences with designer wedding gowns.
