The Dress

Update: Price reduced for a quick sale, we’ve added a new addition to our little family and the storage space in our house is becoming non-existent! This dress made me feel amazing and I hope it does the same for someone else, especially through these confusing times. If you’re getting married during COVID I really feel for you and hope your day is perfect even if it’s tweaked to be so in a slightly different way! This mikado satin dress was everything I said I'd never wear (strapless and form fitting)... yet when I walked into the store and saw this baby I had to try it on, something about it just rocked!

I didn't have high hopes and was scared to leave the dressing room but when one of my bridesmaid took a peek and basically yelled at me to check myself out, I did and I was beaming from ear to ear. I tried on about ten dresses before this one and finally had the corny yes to the dress' vibe in it.

It was simple yet elegant and I thought I looked banging... which doesn't happen often!

I purchased this beauty brand new from Jack Sullivan's Brisbane store mid 2018, this beauty was a one off and was something a little different for Jack Sullivan to make.

It has a corset top which can be adjusted at the back, tightened or loosened as needed - really handy as I was concerned I'd fluctuate with my weight before the wedding.

The gown is fully boned for support so bra is required - bonus! The best cup size for this dress would be a D/E (potentially - it's very flattering and caters for larger boobs). I lost a little weight before the wedding so was a smaller D but could have filled it out more if I was my usual weight but I still thought I rocked it! I am 170cm and wore midi heels (7cm) on the day.

We altered the hem for my height and added a little tulle underneath to give the trumpet more flare - this can be removed if needed. It also has a little beaded bracelet to hold the hem up for the dance floor.

Dress has been dry cleaned so it's ready to go for the next bride who falls in love.
