The Dress

I purchased the beautiful Anita wedding dress by Maggie Sottero from Abbey Bridal Sydney for $2,400 for our wedding in March 2018. I also bought the Roberta beaded belt for $180 which I had sewn into the dress. The one tier raw edge long wedding veil is also available for purchase for an additional cost of $50 (original purchase price was $180).

The dress has been professionally dry cleaned, treated, hand finished and pressed by the dry cleaning business in our family. It looks near new with no major flaws or issues.

My measurements on our wedding day were: Height: 171cm with heels Weight: 47kgs Bust size: 10B (~82cm)

Alterations

All alterations were performed by Abbey Bridal's preferred seamstress (Quinnie). No alterations were made to the waist or bust area. The hem line was cut to my height with my shoes (total height = 171cm on wedding day). Two hidden bustles were also added to bustle up the train of the dress. Breast padding was added which can easily be removed/ altered as desired. Total alteration costs were $400.

I was wearing a hired hoop under the dress on my wedding day based on advice from my seamstress. This allowed the tulle to stay nicely away from my feet so I could easily and freely walk without the tulle collapsing between my legs. It also maintained a bit more structure to the gown.
