The Dress

This dress is a GLL XS, an AU 8/ US 4. I purchased this dress from Still White in March from someone who only wore it for a photo shoot. I wore it for my elopement for a few hours. There are a couple small snags that are not noticeable unless you’re looking very closely. I’ve included photos of them, as well as the back of the dress (where the snags are) from about a foot away. I’m happy to give more photos if needed.

Measurements:
Bust 34 in, Waist 28 in, Hips 39 in, shoulder to floor 56 in. I’m 5’2” and wore hiking boots (maybe 2 inches tall max) and the gown touched the floor. It was pretty snug on my waist! I’d say I’m closer to a US 6 than 4 and I could’ve used an inch more in my waist and arms.

The Valentina, a favourite of the GLL team, features a flattering shape, beginning with a semi-fitted lace bodice with longer line, t-shirt sleeves and straight edge or sweetheart lining, for a contemporary feel. We love the open back with a double satin button closure and artfully placed lace motifs. The dramatic, full circle skirt has been handmade with 10 metres of Italian silk chiffon and a high side split adorned with French eyelash lace. The Valentina is the only dress in our collection with a skirt of this kind.

Alterations

The bride before me added a bustle. The bodice underneath the lace was straight across - I altered it to make it a sweetheart neckline. On the website you’ll see the slit is hard to find - I loved this part of the dress and had it altered so that it was more noticeable. In the photos you can see how it can remain closed while still seeing the beautiful lace that lines it, and also slightly open with the right angle. These stitches are removable. I added B cups as well that can be removed.
