Description
This wedding dress was perfect, had the WOW factor and made me feel so very special on my big day.
The dress was worn once and I have had it professionally cleaned by Perry De Montaignac, a specialist cleaner for intricate detailing. The dress is boxed in a breathable pH neutral hand made box, perfect for long storage allowing the dress to breathe and preventing discolouration.
There are some marks remaining under the skirt, but these are not visible unless the underside of the skirt is closely examined and you are specifically looking for them - and are definitely not visible when being worn.
The skirt of the dress was modified as I was a size 18 waist (and size 20 bust), but can be let out again. I also had a modesty panel fitted on the cleavage section of the bodice, this was to try and protect my modesty from the vicar! The panel can be removed to go back to original design if desired.
The panel was hand beaded, some of which are missing, but can be easily remedied by any reputable dress maker if you wish to keep the panel.
I replaced the broach on the front of the bodice as the original was not very sparkly and I wanted extra sparkle on the dress - The dressmaker actually preferred the replacement too and said it was a higher quality piece and better suited the dress.
There are detachable thin straps that come with the dress, these were never used.
I also had a shawl and dolly bag made as you can see from the photographs, I can include these if you do so wish.
This is a definite Princess Style Wedding dress with a bodice that pulled me in a treat, (not being a slight girl). I tried on three dresses before my day and this was the second, I knew as soon as I put it on that it was THE ONE! ( the only reason I tried on the third was because the shop assistant bullied me in to it!)
The wedding was on 21 May 2010.
Perfect dress for the perfect occasion, but will never wear again and hence reason for sale. I would love someone to gain as much pleasure from wearing this dress as I did - seems such a shame to leave it in the box for the rest of it's life.
