The Dress
I am sadly selling my beautiful wedding dress as I have no space to store it. It was worn once for my wedding in April 2011 and is in perfect condition. It is an Enzoani Emmanuel dress in ivory bought in July 2010 for £2000. It was originally a size 10, but has been taken in at the waist and bust so is now between a size 8 and 10. It also has cups sewn into the lining so it can be worn without a bra, but these can easily be removed when alterations are made. I also had bustle-ribbons fitted in the lining to lift up the train if so desired. When I wore it I was 5'9 in heels so it is a good length. It has been professionally dry cleaned.
What I loved about this dress:
I always wanted a large skirt with a strapless neckline. I thought I would end up with a more ball gown shape, but was worried about looking 'puffy'. The lady in the shop got me to try this dress on having listened to my concerns and the moment I saw myself in the mirror I was sold! It was the first dress I tried on and after trying on at least twenty more in various different places, I still came back to this one. It was the perfect solution for me. It still has a beautiful full skirt with cascading fabric that mimics a waterfall and moves beautifully, but it isn't too 'puffy'. I think it has a very elegant line. It also isn't too fussy, which I love! I had seen lots of embroidered dresses online (thinking them stunning in the pictures on the designers' web pages) and went to try them on. Amazingly though, in person, they didn't seem stunning anymore, they just seemed a bit over the top and tacky. This dress once again had the perfect solution. The small amount of embellishment is beautifully made and it is just the right amount to add to the overall beauty of the dress without being over-fussy. You don't want your guests to focus on all the pearls and crystals pinned all over you, rather, you want them to be able to admire you. A good wedding dress doesn't distract from the woman underneath, but enhances her shape and form. This dress will do that! It's simple, yet with the cascading waterfall-esque skirt, the lovely shape of the bodice and the breathtaking embroidery, it is anything but simple. This dress was made me feel elated and I have never worn anything I have enjoyed wearing as much as I have this dress. I would highly recommend it.
