The Dress

This is my beautiful Maggie Sottero Adeline wedding dress - worn for my wedding in Mexico in May 2013. This is an absolutely stunning dress - I'm still utterly in love with it and really happy that I chose it. I love the detail on the bodice and the corset, and the silhouette it creates makes you feel incredible. I can honestly say I never wanted to take it off and I've received so many compliments about it I've lost count! I hope you like it too - I want someone else to get as much enjoyment as I did from it. It's too special to just sit in a box.

This was bought from a local stockist in January 2013 - the label says size 10, but this is the American size so it's an English 12. I had the waist brought in slightly by the seamstress recommended by the shop to achieve the best 'hourglass' possible. However with it being a corset back you can adjust it to suit your shape (another reason I chose it - to allow for weight ups-and-downs without having to worry!) I'm 5'7 and wore no heels so would be suitable for someone same size or shorter. I also had a 'loop' put in so the train can be tied up (as you can see on the beach photograph).

Although there was no damage or notable staining to the dress when I returned from Mexico I had the dress cleaned professionally by this company http://www.weddingdresscleaners.net/ as they had very favourable reviews, are dedicated to just wedding dress cleaning, and received an industry award for their services. This clean cost £120 and it took a lot of research to find someone I trusted, but I'm very pleased with the result. They packed the dress in special tissue paper designed to preserve the condition and colour of the dress, so it is ready for you to just pick up and go!
