The Dress

This bespoke dress was designed by Suzanne Neville (Designer of the Year 2009). It is based on Suzanne’s Moment and Manhattan dress styles - with a twist, the one-shoulder design. We started with the Moment dress which is from the Nostalgia collection and is based on the dress Suzanne wore on her own wedding day. We removed the lace and added extra pleats to the bodice. The details:

• Ivory silk dress with a fitted corset

• Unusual one-shoulder design

• Button detail on the back

• Size 10-12 – (10 on the top and 12 on the bottom) The dress was ordered in a split size and the top was altered to fit

• I’m 5 foot 10 inches tall (plus I wore small heels) so the dress had to be made with extra length

• Dress includes underskirts

• Please note the photos show two belts. The sparkly belt is for sale but the belt with the bow design is not for sale

Something different –
The one-shoulder detail was added as I wanted the dress to be different to all the strapless dresses I'd seen. Everyone commented on how unusual the dress was.

Very flattering -
The corset bodice is amazing and makes your waist look tiny! The skirt is fitted on one side, but with the extra pleating on the other side (like in Suzanne's Manhattan dress). The extra pleating stops the dress being a true-fishtail style and is also incredibly flattering.

The classic button detail on the back of the dress and the shape of the train means the dress looked gorgeous from the back -worth considering while you are exchanging your vows.

The dress was extremely easy to wear on the day – something I was very grateful for. It is lightweight and the bodice is fitted, but really comfortable. I also had the dress bustled in the evening for dancing or you could have a loop added to hold the skirt.

Extras -
The two underskirts are included in the price. One underskirt is for the main shape of the dress. The additional underskirt is to hold the shape in the train. It is attached with Velcro so can be easily removed if you want to bustle the dress.

The veil was made to mirror the shape of the train and can be bought for an extra £50.

The sparkly belt is for sale for £30.

Professionally cleaned
The dress has been professionally cleaned which cost me £130. There are a couple of small marks around the hem of the dress. If you are shorter than me or are going to wear flat shoes, then these marks would be removed when you have the dress altered.
